Filipino balisong craft, kept alive by the people who inherited it.
The balisong comes from Batangas in the Philippines. Balisong Butterfly exists to keep that tradition in working hands: authentic Filipino blade making, offered as premium, functional butterfly knives for collectors, flippers and everyday users.
Our knives are made by Filipino artisans and metalworkers now working in the United States, many of them from families with generations of experience building traditional Batangas balisongs. That lineage is what separates these knives from mass produced alternatives.
Traditional Filipino balisong building and hand finishing sit alongside modern machining, precision tuning and quality testing. The result behaves the way a balisong should: balanced, smooth through the flip, and built to last.
Steels run from 440C stainless and D2 tool steel through VG10, high carbon and Damascus. Handles are cut from kamagong ebony, carabao horn, Philippine deer horn and bone. Every knife ships with a fitted leather sheath.
