Initials, a date, a symbol or a company logo, cut into the steel before the knife ships.
Engraving is cut into the metal of the knife, on the bolster, where it sits alongside the handle material rather than on the blade face. It is permanent. That is the point of it, and it is also why an engraved knife cannot be resold, which is why every engraving order is final.
People use it for initials, a date, a symbol that means something, or a company logo on a corporate order. Every balisong in the collection can be engraved.
The engraving happens after the knife has been through inspection, pivot testing, alignment and finish control. It is the last thing done to it before it is packed with its fitted leather sheath.
If the knife you want is out of stock, it is handcrafted to order in 2 to 3 weeks, and the engraving time sits on top of that.
