Hand-forged in the Batangas tradition

The balisong was born in Batangas, Philippines. Every knife in this catalogue is made by Filipino artisans and metalworkers, many from families with generations of experience, now working in the United States. Blades are ground from 440C stainless, D2 tool steel, VG10, high carbon and Damascus, and fitted to handles of kamagong ebony, carabao horn, Philippine deer horn and bone.

Description

BF-121 Philippine Visayan — Stag Horn Balisong, 29cm

The Visayan islands developed their own reading of the balisong — longer and narrower than the Batangas standard. This one runs 29cm overall with a 14cm blade, and at 200g it stays lighter than its length suggests.

  • Blade Materials – D2 Tool Steel
  • Handle Materials – Brass with Stag Horn
  • Overall Length – 29cm
  • Blade Length -14cm
  • Weight – 200g

Blade hardness is 58–60 HRC, where the blade delivers a razor edge for precision cutting together with strong toughness and excellent edge retention. Despite the length it handles as a light, compact knife — ready for anything, small but powerful.

Stag horn is set into solid brass, and no two pieces of antler share a texture or a colour, so the handle you receive is genuinely one-off. Part of the authentic Filipino balisong collection.
