Hand-forged in the Batangas tradition
The balisong was born in Batangas, Philippines. Every knife in this catalogue is made by Filipino artisans and metalworkers, many from families with generations of experience, now working in the United States. Blades are ground from 440C stainless, D2 tool steel, VG10, high carbon and Damascus, and fitted to handles of kamagong ebony, carabao horn, Philippine deer horn and bone.

The BF-124 is the Visayan pattern in Damascus — a full-size 29cm balisong on a 14cm blade, with brass handles and black sheet inlay. Damascus is folded and forge-welded, so the layering on every blade comes out differently and no two are quite alike.
The Visayas lie south of Batangas, and knives named for that side of the country carry their own identity in this range. The BF-124 is the long-format one: 29cm rather than the 24cm most of the collection is built on, with the reach to match.

The 14cm blade is hardened to 58-60 HRC for a razor sharp edge with strong toughness behind it. Because the figure comes from folded and forge-welded layers rather than a repeating print, the pattern on the knife you receive will not match the photographs line for line.
