Hand-forged in the Batangas tradition
The balisong was born in Batangas, Philippines. Every knife in this catalogue is made by Filipino artisans and metalworkers, many from families with generations of experience, now working in the United States. Blades are ground from 440C stainless, D2 tool steel, VG10, high carbon and Damascus, and fitted to handles of kamagong ebony, carabao horn, Philippine deer horn and bone.

Barn owls fly silently and land exactly where they meant to. The BF-11 was named for that: at 165g it sits among the lightest in the 440c group, and it moves through a rollover with very little noise from the pins.

Its edge is 440C stainless — a 400-series steel carrying more carbon than any other grade in that family, at 0.95–1.20% carbon with 16.00–18.00% chromium, plus 0.75% molybdenum and 1.0% each of manganese and silicon. Heat treated to 58–60 HRC and oil quenched for maximum hardness, it is the same alloy used in bearings before it became a knife steel.
