Hand-forged in the Batangas tradition

The balisong was born in Batangas, Philippines. Every knife in this catalogue is made by Filipino artisans and metalworkers, many from families with generations of experience, now working in the United States. Blades are ground from 440C stainless, D2 tool steel, VG10, high carbon and Damascus, and fitted to handles of kamagong ebony, carabao horn, Philippine deer horn and bone.

Description

BF-127 Philippine Visayan Damascus Balisong Butterfly Knife

The Visayan islands gave the balisong its second home, and the BF-127 is built to that regional read of the pattern — a long, full-size frame made entirely by hand rather than machined by the thousand. Its Damascus blade carries its own markings, so no two are identical.

  • Blade Materials – High Carbon Steel
  • Handle Materials – Brass with black sheet
  • Overall Length – 29cm
  • Blade Length -14cm
  • Weight – 220g

Hardened to 58-60 HRC, the blade takes a razor edge for precise cutting and backs it with real toughness and edge retention. The brass and black sheet handles put the mass where it belongs, giving the 220g knife a settled, predictable swing across 29cm. Ready for anything — a collector piece that still works.
