Hand-forged in the Batangas tradition
The balisong was born in Batangas, Philippines. Every knife in this catalogue is made by Filipino artisans and metalworkers, many from families with generations of experience, now working in the United States. Blades are ground from 440C stainless, D2 tool steel, VG10, high carbon and Damascus, and fitted to handles of kamagong ebony, carabao horn, Philippine deer horn and bone.

The BF-06 Antelope is the 24cm build of the deer horn line — same brass frame and Philippine deer horn inserts as its larger siblings, on a shorter 12cm blade that is easier to keep under control.
An antelope is built for quick changes of direction rather than brute force, and the shorter, 250g Antelope handles the same way: it comes around faster than the full-size knives in the range.

Blade steel in short: 440C is the highest-carbon grade in the 400 stainless series, running 0.95–1.20% carbon alongside 16.00–18.00% chromium, 0.75% molybdenum, 1.0% manganese and 1.0% silicon. A bearing steel by origin, it is normally heat treated to 58–60 HRC and takes an oil quench when maximum hardness is wanted, a combination that suits knife blades well.
