Hand-forged in the Batangas tradition
The balisong was born in Batangas, Philippines. Every knife in this catalogue is made by Filipino artisans and metalworkers, many from families with generations of experience, now working in the United States. Blades are ground from 440C stainless, D2 tool steel, VG10, high carbon and Damascus, and fitted to handles of kamagong ebony, carabao horn, Philippine deer horn and bone.
Checked four times
Detailed hand inspection, smoothness and pivot testing, blade alignment checks, and durability and finish quality control. If a knife doesn't meet our standards, it never reaches our customers.

BF-21 Catfish — Solid Brass 440c Balisong
A catfish sits low, holds its ground and is slow to spook. The BF-21 was named for that: solid brass handles with no inserts at all, 185g of it, giving the densest, most bottom-heavy feel of anything we build at 24cm.

The blade is 440c. Of the 400 series stainless steels it holds the most carbon — 0.95–1.20%, alongside 16.00–18.00% chromium, 0.75% molybdenum, 1.0% manganese and 1.0% silicon. Heat treatment brings it to 58–60 HRC, and it can be oil quenched to reach maximum hardness. It is a bearing steel by origin and a proven knife steel in practice.
Each one is fitted and finished by hand in the Filipino tradition, then shipped from the USA.
