Hand-forged in the Batangas tradition
The balisong was born in Batangas, Philippines. Every knife in this catalogue is made by Filipino artisans and metalworkers, many from families with generations of experience, now working in the United States. Blades are ground from 440C stainless, D2 tool steel, VG10, high carbon and Damascus, and fitted to handles of kamagong ebony, carabao horn, Philippine deer horn and bone.

Detailed hand inspection, smoothness and pivot testing, blade alignment checks, and durability and finish quality control. If a knife doesn't meet our standards, it never reaches our customers.

BF-24 Cockatoo — 440c Balisong, Stainless and Kamagong
Loud crest, light body. The cockatoo announces itself before it does anything, and the BF-24 borrows the trick: dark kamagong wood set against bright stainless gives it the showiest handle at the entry end of the range.

Blade steel is 440c: 0.95–1.20% carbon — the highest of the 400 stainless series — with 16.00–18.00% chromium, 0.75% molybdenum, 1.0% manganese and 1.0% silicon in the mix. It is usually heat treated to 58–60 HRC and can be oil quenched for maximum hardness. Originally a bearing steel, it has been used for knife blades for decades.
Handmade in the Batangas tradition, 180g in the hand, and shipped from the USA.
