Hand-forged in the Batangas tradition

The balisong was born in Batangas, Philippines. Every knife in this catalogue is made by Filipino artisans and metalworkers, many from families with generations of experience, now working in the United States. Blades are ground from 440C stainless, D2 tool steel, VG10, high carbon and Damascus, and fitted to handles of kamagong ebony, carabao horn, Philippine deer horn and bone.

About the BF-78 Mole — Authentic Filipino Balisong

Every BF-78 Mole is an authentic Filipino balisong, hand-built the way Batangas makers have crafted butterfly knives for generations. The blade is semi-stainless D2 tool steel that wears slowly and keeps its edge through hard use. The handles carry carabao horn from the Philippine water buffalo — the classic balisong handle material for over a century. At 29cm overall and 220g, it balances beautifully in the hand – built to the classic Filipino pattern.

No two handles ever match exactly — that is the mark of a hand-built balisong. Add custom engraving to make it personal, and read the history of the balisong to see where this craft began.
