Hand-forged in the Batangas tradition
The balisong was born in Batangas, Philippines. Every knife in this catalogue is made by Filipino artisans and metalworkers, many from families with generations of experience, now working in the United States. Blades are ground from 440C stainless, D2 tool steel, VG10, high carbon and Damascus, and fitted to handles of kamagong ebony, carabao horn, Philippine deer horn and bone.

Detailed hand inspection, smoothness and pivot testing, blade alignment checks, and durability and finish quality control. If a knife doesn't meet our standards, it never reaches our customers.

A sheath with every knife
Every knife includes a fitted leather sheath. Both live blades and trainers are offered, and every order ships worldwide with tracking.
Insects carry their skeleton on the outside, and the BF-65 borrows the idea. Instead of brass mass, the structure comes from stainless liners with natural bone set into them — lighter-feeling in the hand, and paler than the near-black kamagong used across most of the high carbon group.

Carbon content between 0.30% and 1.70% by weight is what makes a carbon steel heat-treatable, but trace elements decide its quality. Sulfur makes steel red-short — brittle and crumbly while hot — and a low-alloy grade such as A36 holds about 0.05% sulfur with a melting range of 1,426–1,538 °C (2,599–2,800 °F). Manganese is often added to improve hardenability; AISI’s definition still permits up to 1.65% manganese in a carbon steel. The finished blade sits at roughly 58 to 60 HRC.
