Anniversary Gifts For Husband
A date on a bolster is a better anniversary gift than a date on a card, mostly because the bolster survives. Engraving runs $19 for text and $29 for a logo. It is cut into the steel of the bolster and it is permanent, so engraved knives are final sale and we cannot take one back because the year was wrong.Read your own anniversary date back to yourself before you submit it. People get this wrong more often than you would think. There are 127 knives in this tag, $109.45 to $247.50. Engraving adds one to three business days, and a made-to-order piece takes two to three weeks to build before it ships at all, so do not start this the week of.If he has never flipped one, order it as a trainer. Same knife, same price, no edge, and it means the anniversary is not remembered for the trip to urgent care.
Everything in this tag is in stock right now, so nothing here has to be built from scratch before it ships. Orders leave in one to three business days, US delivery usually runs four to eight after that, and international is eight to fourteen.
The 127 knives split across five blade steels. VG10 starts at $106.46, D2 tool steel is the biggest group with 45 to choose from, and 440C holds the top of the range at $241.46. Handles are brass or stainless frames with inserts of kamagong, rosewood, stag horn, bone, micarta or carabao horn, so two knives at the same price can look nothing alike.
If you already know his taste, shop by handle. If you do not, shop by steel and let the price decide. The comparison table sits below the grid.

What the money actually buys here
All 127 knives in this tag are handmade and all of them are in stock, which is the main reason the prices sit where they do. Half the tag is under $135 and only one knife goes past $225, so if you already have a number in your head there is almost certainly something on this page at it.
Three things move the price: the blade steel, the handle inserts and the size. Overall lengths run from 15cm to 29cm and weights from 135g to 310g. A big knife suits big hands and looks better on a shelf. A shorter one tends to get carried, which for most husbands is the better outcome.
The five blade steels, side by side
| Steel | Knives in this tag | Price range | Why you would pick it |
|---|---|---|---|
| VG10 | 30 | $106.46 to $173.96 | The cheapest way into the tag, and a keen edge for the money. |
| D2 tool steel | 45 | $117.71 to $214.46 | The biggest group, so the widest choice of handles at middle money. |
| High carbon | 22 | $118.46 to $136.46 | The tightest price band in the tag and the traditional forged look. |
| 440C stainless | 22 | $107.21 to $241.46 | Best rust resistance. It also holds the highest price on the page. |
| Damascus | 8 | $149.96 to $187.46 | Layered and folded, so the pattern on his blade is his alone. |
With no other signal to go on, D2 is the safe pick. If he keeps his knives in a damp garage or lives near salt water, take the 440C instead.
Handles are where the gift shows
115 of the 127 knives are built on brass frames and 14 on stainless. What you actually notice, though, is the insert. Kamagong, the Philippine ironwood, appears on 61 of them and goes darker the more it is handled. Rosewood accounts for 19 and reads warmer and redder. After that it thins out fast: bone on 12, micarta on 10, Philippine deer horn on 9, stag horn on 8, carabao horn on 8 and narra burl on 4.
Horn, bone and burl are natural materials, so no two sets are identical. If he likes things that match, steer towards micarta. If he likes things that are his, steer towards horn.
Putting the date on it
Engraving is a flat $19 for text, which covers initials, a name or a date, and $29 if you want a logo cut in. It is cut into the steel rather than printed on it, so it will not wear off and it cannot be undone. That is also why engraved knives are final sale and cannot be exchanged unless the mistake was ours. Read the year back to yourself before you submit the order. The engraving page covers the layout and file details.
Sharp edge or blunt edge
Every knife on this page can be built as a trainer. Same steel, same handle, same hand-tuned pivots, edge left unsharpened, same price. Sharp is the default, so you have to choose the trainer on the product page. If he has never flipped a balisong, that is the version that keeps the anniversary pleasant. Learning on a live blade is how people end up with stitches and an anecdote they are obliged to repeat at parties.
Working out the timing
Orders are processed in one to three business days. After that, most US deliveries land four to eight business days later and international runs eight to fourteen, customs allowing. Engraving adds production time on top of that. None of this is a guarantee from the carrier, so if the date is close, order early in the week rather than late.
Questions people ask before they buy one of these
Is a butterfly knife a strange anniversary gift? Less strange than another mug. It is a handmade object with your date cut into it, and unlike most anniversary gifts he will pick it up again. If he fidgets, collects, camps or cooks, it lands.
How much should I spend? 78 of the 127 knives here fall between $125 and $175, and that band is the comfortable middle if you have nothing else to go on. Below $125 you are still buying the same handmade build, just a plainer handle.
Which steel should I choose if I know nothing about steel? D2 tool steel. It is the largest group in this tag at 45 knives, it holds an edge well and it sits in the middle of the price range. Choose 440C instead if he lives somewhere humid, because it resists rust better.
Can engraving be corrected later? No. The text is cut into the steel and cannot be removed, which is why engraved knives are final sale and are not eligible for exchange unless the error was ours. Check the spelling and the year twice before you place the order.
Will it arrive before our anniversary? Every knife in this tag is in stock. Processing takes one to three business days, US shipping usually four to eight after that, international eight to fourteen. Engraving adds time on top, so leave extra room if you want the date on it.
What if he has never used one? Order it as a trainer. It is the same knife with an unsharpened edge at the same price, and it is how every serious flipper starts. He can buy the sharp one himself once he stops dropping it.
About our balisongs
The balisong began in Batangas, in the Philippines, and every knife in this collection is made in that tradition. Our knives are made by Filipino artisans and metalworkers, many from families with generations of experience, now working in the United States.
Blades are ground in 440C stainless, D2 tool steel, VG10, high carbon and Damascus steel. Handles are fitted in kamagong ebony, carabao horn, Philippine deer horn and bone, and every knife ships with a fitted leather sheath. Both live blades and trainers are offered.
Before a knife leaves the bench it passes a four-step quality process: detailed hand inspection, smoothness and pivot testing, blade alignment checks, and durability and finish quality control. If a knife doesn't meet our standards, it never reaches our customers.
Most orders ship in 1 to 3 business days and arrive in 4 to 8 business days across the USA, or 8 to 14 business days internationally. Out of stock knives are handcrafted to order in 2 to 3 weeks, and every order ships worldwide with tracking.
