Hand-forged in the Batangas tradition
The balisong was born in Batangas, Philippines. Every knife in this catalogue is made by Filipino artisans and metalworkers, many from families with generations of experience, now working in the United States. Blades are ground from 440C stainless, D2 tool steel, VG10, high carbon and Damascus, and fitted to handles of kamagong ebony, carabao horn, Philippine deer horn and bone.

Detailed hand inspection, smoothness and pivot testing, blade alignment checks, and durability and finish quality control. If a knife doesn't meet our standards, it never reaches our customers.

Carbon steels that respond well to heat treatment run between 0.30% and 1.70% carbon by weight, and trace elements change the result: sulfur in particular leaves steel red-short — brittle at working temperature — while manganese is added to improve hardenability (low-alloy grades such as A36 carry about 0.05% sulfur and melt around 1,426–1,538 °C / 2,599–2,800 °F). AISI still counts up to 1.65% manganese as carbon steel. This blade is high carbon steel at approximately 58 to 60 HRC.
